This page covers how Heka handles the information you share with the Skin Check at quiz.hekaskin.com.au. Plain English, no fine-print games.
What you share with us
- Your answers to the eight quiz questions (skin type, routine, shaving, concerns, time commitment, etc.).
- Your first name, email, and optionally a phone number for SMS opt-in.
- Optionally, a single photo of your face. The photo is not required to use the Skin Check.
What we do with your photo
Your photo is used once, for analysis only. We send it to Anthropic (the company behind the Claude AI model) so the model can describe visible characteristics like skin tone, oil distribution, and visible texture. The model returns notes that go into your routine.
The photo is never written to our database, our servers, or any analytics tool. Anthropic's commercial API does not use submitted content to train models, and inputs are deleted from their systems within 30 days as part of their standard trust-and-safety retention policy.
What we do with your quiz answers and email
Your quiz answers and email are stored in Klaviyo, our email platform. We use them to:
- Email you your routine and follow-up tips.
- Tell you when Heka launches and when stock is available.
- Send you content tailored to the answers you gave (e.g. SPF guidance to outdoor-lifestyle respondents).
If you ticked SMS opt-in, we'll occasionally send launch updates and replenishment reminders by text. We do not sell or rent your data. We do not share it with anyone except Anthropic (for the photo, as above) and Klaviyo (for email storage).
How to delete your data
Email hello@hekaskin.com.au from the address you submitted, asking us to delete your profile. We'll remove it from Klaviyo within 7 days and reply when it's done. There is nothing to delete on the Anthropic side because the photo was never stored, and any cached input is auto-deleted by Anthropic within 30 days.
Cookies and analytics
The Skin Check uses a single first-party session ID to track your progress through the quiz. We do not run third-party analytics, advertising pixels, or tracking cookies on this page.
Australian context
Heka is operated from Australia. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Your data is stored in Klaviyo (US-based) and processed by Anthropic (US-based), which means it crosses Australian borders. By using the Skin Check you consent to this overseas handling.
